Compare our savings accounts

A savings account is a simple and secure way to grow your money. You deposit your savings and earn interest, which is the return you receive for keeping your funds with us. At the same time, you maintain access to your money according to the account terms, whether you prefer flexible savings or a fixed-term deposit.

Opening and depositing funds into our savings accounts is free of charge. You can choose to save with full access to your funds through an easy-access account, or lock in your savings for a fixed period to potentially benefit from a higher interest rate. Please note that early withdrawals from fixed-term savings may be subject to a fee.

Benefits of saving with Aros Kapital

Secure savings protected by the government deposit guarantee scheme

  • Your account is covered by the Swedish National Debt Office’s deposit guarantee scheme.
  • Each customer is entitled to compensation for their total account balance with Aros Kapital, up to a maximum of SEK 1,150,000.
  • The deposit guarantee means that you are eligible for compensation from the state up to a specified amount if the bank or institution holding your funds becomes insolvent. The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority may also decide to activate the deposit guarantee.

Right of Withdrawal

As a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the agreement within fourteen (14) days from the date on which the agreement was entered into. If you exercise your right of withdrawal, the savings account will be closed and the deposited funds will be transferred to your nominated withdrawal account without any withdrawal fee. No interest will be paid on deposited funds if the right of withdrawal is exercised.

You may exercise your right of withdrawal by logging in to the customer portal and clicking the “Exercise Right of Withdrawal” button, or by contacting Aros Kapital by phone at +46 31 83 36 79, by email at spar@aroskapital.se, through the customer portal on our website, or by post to:

Tax on Your Savings

What is a Flexible Savings Account (Likvidkonto)?

A Flexible Savings Account (Likvidkonto) is a savings account with a variable interest rate and no fixed-term. It allows free deposits and withdrawals at any time. The interest rate is variable and may change from time to time.

What happens when my fixed-term savings account matures?

When your fixed term ends, your balance (including any accrued interest) is automatically transferred to a Flexible Savings Account. If you do not already hold a Flexible Savings Account, one will be opened automatically at maturity. You may then reinvest your funds by opening a new fixed-term savings account and transferring the funds via the customer portal. Alternatively, you may withdraw your balance, including interest, by selecting “Withdrawal”. The funds will be transferred to your registered withdrawal account. Your funds will not be automatically reinvested.

Are my savings covered by the government deposit guarantee?

Yes. Your deposits are protected under the Swedish deposit guarantee scheme up to SEK 1,150,000 per customer. Further information about the government deposit guarantee scheme is available here.

Can two individuals open a joint account?

No. We do not currently offer joint accounts.

Can I deposit funds in euros or other currencies?

No. We currently only accept deposits in SEK.

When will I receive interest on my savings?

Interest on fixed-term savings is paid at maturity. Interest on a Flexible Savings Account is paid annually at year-end, or upon account closure.

What happens if the account holder dies?

The account holder’s next of kin or authorised representative should contact Aros Kapital at spar@aroskapital.se or +46 (0)31 83 36 70.

Why does my withdrawal account need to be verified?

We are required to verify that the nominated withdrawal account is held in your name before payments can be made. This is a security measure to protect your funds.
