Why we ask questions

Customer Due Diligence

Preventing money laundering is an essential part of maintaining a secure and stable financial system. By preventing funds derived from criminal activities from entering the legitimate economy, we help combat organised crime and stop illegal assets from being used to finance terrorism.

At Aros Kapital, our priority is to ensure a safe and trustworthy financial environment for our customers. By carefully collecting and analysing key information about our customers’ business relationships and transactions, we work actively to prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

The Swedish Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Act (2017:630) forms an integral part of our framework for maintaining a sound financial system. It requires us, as a financial institution, to maintain a firm understanding of our customers’ financial position and business relationships. We are committed to ensuring ongoing compliance with these requirements to safeguard both our business and our customers.

When and Why Do I Need to Answer Customer Due Diligence Questions?

To become a customer, you will be asked to answer customer due diligence questions. During your business relationship with us, you may also be asked to update this information from time to time. All requests for information will be sent through the Aros customer portal or through official company letters. You can complete the questionnaire by logging in to the customer portal using BankID.

Please note: We will never contact you by phone asking for passwords or BankID login details.

Maintaining a firm understanding of our customers is necessary for us as a regulated financial institution to meet our obligations under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Act (2017:630) and the Act on Registration of Beneficial Ownership (2017:631).

What Happens If I Do Not Respond?

Please be assured that all information you provide is handled confidentially in accordance with applicable banking secrecy rules and data protection legislation (GDPR).
